Synopsis:

This is a South African version of "Waiting for Guffman" It features comedian Gilda Blacher as Hazel Levin, a young J-burg Jewish comedian who gets stranded in a small conservative town where she is placed in charge of the Xmas nativity pageant. While Hazel is welcomed by some in this quirky town, and she even begins a love affair with a Boer farmer, others are suspicious of her becuase she is Jewish and she wants to include blacks in the pageant. Filmed on location in Mpumlanga Province.

A South African actress runs into car trouble and finds herself stranded in a small town in the Karoo. Recognized from TV, Hazel is invited to direct the local nativity play but soon faces complications: she's Jewish, and she goes out of her way to include the black community in her Christmas show with results that mix comedy, tragedy and triumph.
