Synopsis:

Judy Holliday reteams with Born Yesterday writer Garson Kanin for one of Hollywood's finest send-ups of the New York rat race. After two years of unsuccessfully trying to make her mark as a model, a small-town fame-seeker (Holliday) takes encouragement from a struggling documentarian (Lemmon, in his first screen appearance) she meets in Central Park. Deciding to buy her way to stardom, she blows all her savings on getting her face plastered on a giant Columbus Circle billboard, but soon finds herself entangled with the womanizing owner of a soap company whose ad space she's just purchased. Featuring an irresistibly sweet Holliday-Lemmon duet of the standard 'Let's Fall in Love,' It Should Happen to You brings out the wit, warmth, and humanity behind the brilliant comedienne's dumb-blonde act.

Those of you unfortunate enough not to know about Judy Holliday should watch this film and see one of the greatest comedian's of her time! The story is simple enough, a young women seeks to make herself more popular and learns that she can purchase a Billboard space to advertise herself. It's a silly premise, but both Judy and Jack Lemmon make this romantic comedy so endearing and feel good. They don't make movies like this anymore. Let's just hope that iTunes can get 'Born Yesterday' soon! Classics! Judy's short life at least gave us a glimpse of the amazing comedic talent.

Gladys Glover has just lost her modelling job when she meets filmmaker Pete Sheppard shooting a documentary in Central Park. For Pete it's love at first sight, but Gladys has her mind on other things - like making a name for herself. Through a fluke of advertising she winds up with her name plastered over 10 billboards throughout city. Suddenly all of New York is clamoring for Gladys Glover without knowing why and playboy Evan Adams III is making a play for Gladys that even Pete knows will be hard to beat.
