Synopsis:
A musical journey with Enzo Gragnaniello into the memory of 'downtown' Naples, of its magical, mythological and historical places. But it is also an exploration through the city's 'uptown', through its monuments and more lively areas, always punctuated by the realistic and dreamy performances of Gragnaniello with Sud Express, which are intermingled with asides with Neapolitan artists such as Tony Cercola, Marialuisa Santella, Enzo Moscato, Riccardo Veno, Franco del Prete and James Senese, and with the contribution of cinematographic stock images of post-war and 70s Naples. 'The project was born from a need to show off a 'different' Naples, one that is mythological and magical but also alive throughout the years, through the musical guidance of an impulsive character like Gragnaniello who has been capable of conveying the various spirits of our roots: the lunar, the solar and the popular'.

Carlo Luglio spins a colourful story about Enzo Gragnagnielli, an Italian musician. In search for his musical roots, Enzo goes on a film journey to revisit the places and memories that shaped his sensitivity as an artist. Together with the character, the spectator discovers a variety of influences, ranging from soul to Italian songs, that converge in his art to make a coherent whole. The character says, 'the task if art is to remind us who we are', and the focus of Luglio's musical documentary is precisely on self-discovery.
