Synopsis:

Lynda La Plante is back: Pilot Series & Second Series DS Jake Brown and DI Carl Harrington are both police officers - but the similarity stops there. Jake is streetwise, tough, a top undercover officer specialising in drugs. Harrington is Cambridge educated, squeaky clean, and on the fast track to a desk job at the top. But when Harrington decides he wants to gain credibility by working drugs, they are thrown together in a dangerous undercover operation in Manchester's seedy druglands.

Supply & Demand (1997)
Harrington is a by-the-rules cop, being groomed for command in the police force. Jake Brown is a street-wise cop, brilliant at undercover work in the drug trade. When chance throws Harrington an opportunity to break one of Manchester's biggest drug rings by going undercover himself, it's up to Jake to make sure that Harrington doesn't blow the case or their covers. But Harrington begins to discover more than he wanted to know about himself, and he may be in danger of going too far.

Supply and Demand II (1998)
The Elite Specialist Undercover Squad (ESUS) is an experimental unit set up to create a closer link between MI5 and the police. The unit investigates cases that go beyond the remit of either the regional police forces or Special Branch. Five police officers, specially recruited for their experience in working under cover, find themselves working side-by-side with specially-trained agents.
