Synopsis:
Episodes 7-12 of the long running Scottish drama series. Take The High Road was one of the longest running shows on UK television. For over 22 years and more than 1,500 episodes the show delighted viewers all over Britain as this landmark Scottish Television drama followed the lives of the inhabitants of Glendorrach, a beautiful village in the scenic Scottish countryside.
Following the trials and tribulations of the people who live and work on the estate, Take The High Road was shot on location in the village of Luss, on the banks of the picturesque Loch Lomond, northwest of Glasgow. Now, for the first time on DVD, you can re-live the highs and lows, the friendships and all the dramas as they unfold in this timeless classic.

Take the High Road was a Scottish soap opera produced by Scottish Television, and set in the fictional village of Glendarroch (exteriors were filmed in the real-life village of Luss on the banks of Loch Lomond), and claims to have about 2 million fans, including the Queen Mother. It started in February 1980 as an ITV daytime soap opera, and was dropped by the network in 1993, although various members of the ITV Network (notably Border Television and Central Television) continued to screen the programme, while others (such as Yorkshire Television and Carlton Television) had no interest in doing so.

Set in the fictious Scottish village of Glendarroch. This initially twice-weekly, then weekly drama told the stories of the people who lived and worked in the village and its' surrounding areas. The show's name was shortened to "High Road" in 1995. The theme was written by Arthur Blake.
