Synopsis:

Season 5
Episode 1:
The latest gritty police serial from the pen of Lynda La Plante sees Detective Superintendent Mike Walker investigating the discovery of a skeleton in a north London house : a low-key assignment that does little to boost the troubled copper's drooping self-esteem. Matters are complicated when it transpires his assistant on the case is the ex-boyfriend of his current partner, DI Pat North. Things aren't looking much rosier for North, either, as relationship troubles with Mike and depression over the loss of her baby cast a shadow over her high-flying career. Starring David Hayman, Kate Buffery, Dorian Lough and Dermot Crowley.
Episode 2:
The investigation steps up a gear after two more skeletons are found buried at the house and Walker finds himself having to stave off intense media scrutiny. The team manage to trace the former occupants of the property, but struggle to piece together the clues from a series of murders that took place some 17 years previously. The daughter of the former owners, Kathleen Norton, is found by DNA to be the mother of the mummified baby, and Graham Richards is the father. Walker charges Kathleen Norton with the murders, but Satchel is not so sure that Graham Richards should not be charged as well.
