Synopsis:

A dejected, worn-out, ill-kempt man spends an inordinate amount of time observing what appear to be well-dressed 1920s high-society types moving in and around a library set in the middle of an otherwise deserted island. Eventually, an irritating explanation for this situation is paired with an improbable one.

A dejected fugitive hides on a deserted island, tourists arrive, clad in 1920s high-society clothing, and his fear of being discovered becomes a mixed emotion when he falls in love with one of them. He wants to tell her his feelings, but an anomalous phenomenon keeps them apart...

Adapted from Adolfo Bioy Casares's celebrated novel, this is a highly stylized science-fiction fantasy. Starring Giulio Brogi, Anna Karina, John Steiner.
