Synopsis:
Brecha is a vivid and realistic portrayal of the emotional rupture between a father, André-recently released from prison-and his 12-year-old son, José, following a dark family tragedy that no one has the strength to confront. Also involved in the family affairs is the boy's grandmother, who tries her best to normalize the lives of her grandson and his father. André's inability to let go of the past, and José's increasingly peculiar behavior both lend to the nearly palpable tension. As the three family members try to mend relationships and reform their lives, the awkwardness and strain serve to only worsen the situation, leading them all to what could be disastrous.

Brecha is a particularly vivid and realistic portrayal of the emotional rupture between a father recently released from jail and his 12 year old son, following a dark family tragedy that no one has strength enough to confront. Herself victim of the same in-communication, the boys grandmother tries her level best at normalizing their lives. However, not counting on the fathers incapacity at forgetting the past, and his sons increasingly peculiar behaviour. All three of them awkwardly attempt to plug the rift, only to worsen the situation with every try, leading them slowly to the brink of a new and permanent - disaster.
