Synopsis:
The Constant Factor (1980)
A young man is facing death of his mother. A petty corruption at his job leads to him being framed and robbed of his only desire to climb mountains in Himalayas, as his father did and where he died.

Persona non grata (2005)
The eternal love triangle: after years Victor discovers that his late wife, perhaps, had a relationship with Oleg - his old friend. Clarification of relationship with Oleg comes to a standstill.

Life As a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease (2000)
The film follows the final weeks of Tomasz Berg, an intelligent, though egotistical and cynical doctor. His journey is complemented by that of Filip, a young, doubt-ridden medical student. At the heart of the film lies the question of human reconciliation with death.

Family Life (1970)
Featuring three of Poland's greatest actors, this intense chamber piece centers on an ambitious young industrial designer who is summoned home to help his alcoholic father and suicidal sister. Both the aristocratic family he fled in shame and scorn, and their dilapidated country estate, bathed in an oppressively nostalgic light, prove ultimately inescapable.

Camouflage (1977)
In this dramatic and wickedly subversive portrayal of the tense conflict between students and teachers at a country summer school for linguistics, Zanussi offers a subtle but fierce critique of Communist Party politics and the precariousness of success in a socialist society.

The Constant Factor (1980)
The Constant Factor (Polish: Constans) is a 1980 Polish film directed by Krzysztof Zanussi. It tells the story of a young man struggling to face the death of his mother and harbouring a desire to climb the Himalayas as his father had done.

Persona non grata (2005)
Wiktor, a former Polish underground activist and Poland's ambassador to Uruguay returns home for his wife's funeral. He meets Oleg, the Russian deputy foreign minister, an old friend from twenty five years ago. However Wiktor has a nagging suspicion that Oleg had been sent by the Russians to infiltrate the Polish underground and he also suspects that his wife was involved with him. Now he attempts to find out the truth.

Life As a Fatal Sexually Transmitted Disease (2000)
The title of this film - taken from graffiti on a wall near director Krzysztof Zanussi's home - provides ironic commentary on its subject, which revolves around a doctor's questioning of his beliefs when he is confronted with terminal illness. Tomasz is first seen working as the doctor on the set of a French movie production about the life of Saint Bernard. After his work is finished, he returns to Warsaw, where he makes the unpleasant discovery that he has cancer. Tomasz' only hope is an expensive operation in Paris, and he is forced to ask his ex-wife Anna - now remarried to a self-important yuppie - for money. Anna writes him a check, but when he goes to Paris for the operation, Tomasz is informed that his condition has become inoperable. Facing imminent death, he begins to question the beliefs he has held all his life and, with a sense of fatalistic liberation, starts to experiment with both his own life and those of others.

Family Life (1970)
A young engineer is called back home, which he had left years before. The house is a crumbling, old mansion in which his father still works, illegally distilling vodka, much of which he drinks himself. He is alcoholic and unhappy. His sister is cynical and disturbed, had attempted suicide. His aunt is tired and sour. Their purpose to bring him there is to play on his sympathies and eventually make stay, to make him work and take care of them. He refuses and returns back to the city.

Camouflage (1977)
A group of students are spending the summer vacation at a university camp studying the science of linguistics. One of the camp directors, Jaroslaw, is a young professor who prefers the straightforward, intimate approach to students. He is opposed in his liberal views by Jakub, who likes to manipulate people. There is a confrontation from the beginning when Jaroslaw allows to attend the seminar a student who presents the views not according to the official line. In the end, a jury prize is given to mediocre paper, while the suspected school of thought still draws a recommendation. Finally the deputy rector arrives for the closing ceremonies, and since he disfavors the line of thought awarded by the recommendation the tensions rise. They climax when student in question bites the rector in the ear while receiving recommendation. The confrontation results in a scandal and the police is called in.
