Synopsis:

Pretty, blonde, and popular-Kristin counts down the days to her high school graduation, when she'll finally get to leave her manipulative sister and small Swedish town behind for New York City. Everything is set perfectly: the airline tickets purchased, an apartment rented, and the local town newspaper has promised to publish Kristin's columns about life in the city that never sleeps. But when she misses her flight after a drunken high school graduation party, she hides out at the country home of the shy, sullen Andrea until she can catch a standby flight. While she waits, the pair strike up a wary but genuine friendship, as they turn their house in the middle of nowhere into a virtual Big Apple adventure, which Kristin chronicles for everyone at 'home' to follow ... until the day reality comes knocking. In his follow-up to Simple Simon, director Andreas Öhman crafts an endearing portrait of surprising friendship and life's quixotic journey at that moment when innocence gives way to experience.

Kristin counts down the days to her high school graduation, when she'll finally get to leave her small town and her manipulative sister behind, for the New York of her dreams. But Kristin misses her flight and, to escape total humiliation, instead ends up hiding out at the house of the peculiar young girl Andrea, far out on the countryside. In this house of Nowhere, Kristin brings Andrea along to the pulsating heart of New York on a big virtual adventure which she chronicles for everyone at home to follow. But then reality comes knocking.

In order to save face after missing her flight to New York, Swedish high school graduate Kristin concocts a scheme to write about her 'travels' from the safety of a friend's country house in this heart-warming, humor-infused drama.
