Synopsis:
Something's happening deep in the heartland of America. Some folks are calling Fairfield, Iowa the "Midwestern Stepford." The County Commissioners say, "We really don't know what's going on here!" But a legendary Hollywood director and the local school he's teamed up with know exactly what's up in Fairfield. School of Thought is a mysterious and amazing adventure into the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment and Maharishi University with Academy Award nominee, David Lynch. David invites a few friends to Fairfield, including Beatles collaborator, Donovan and worldrenowned quantum physicist, John Hagelin to help in his quest for a more productive and stressfree school environment. Together, these three 'peacemakers' are on a mission to bring meditation into schools across the planet. They believe that twiceaday meditation in the classroom will create more balanced, focused and stressfree students thereby eliminating drug abuse, violence and lifethreatening stress in schools. And when David takes his message to New York City for a Radio City Music Hall concert to raise funds for the David Lynch Foundation, some legendary rock stars join in, including Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. School of Thought takes you on an incredible journey with a Hollywood icon from the vast cornfields of Iowa to the bustling center of New York's Times Square. Along the way you'll see how David is attempting to make the world a happier and healthier place one student at a time.

Legendary Hollywood director David Lynch joins forces in an ambitious mission to eliminate violence and life-threatening stress in schools across the planet. "School of Thought" is a mysterious and amazing adventure into the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment deep in the heartland of America with Academy Award-nominee David Lynch ("Blue Velvet," "Twin Peaks" and "The Elephant Man"). David brings along a few friends including Beatles collaborator Donovan (Mellow Yellow, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Sunshine Superman) and the world-renowned quantum physicist John Hagelin ("What the Bleep Do We Know?"). Together, these three peacemakers - with the featured support of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Moby, Eddie Vedder and Ben Harper - are touring the world with their mind-blowing solution to creating harmonious schools and world peace. Their answer: Have every student in every school across the planet practice Transcendental Meditation twice a day and watch them quickly become happier, healthier and more focused, thereby dissolving the life-threatening stress which typically manifests itself in young people through drug abuse and violence, often in fatal ways.

A small Midwestern school joins forces with a legendary Hollywood director in an ambitious mission to eliminate violence and life-threatening stress in schools across the planet.
