Synopsis:

Al Pereira, once a seductive and amoral detective, has become more and more of a right-winger over the years, until coming to be a champion of morals and modesty. But his path is crossed by the Alligator Ladies, sisters given over to sin and shamelessness, sent by their father, doctor Fu-Manchu, to bring Pereira back to the day side.

The last Jess Franco film which the filmmaker lived to edit is indeed a knowing road to nowhere. Scenes of Antonio Mayans's Al Pereira convulsing in bed during a nightmare serve as, just about, a starting point or a justification for a film that initially hews to vestiges of a narrative order before it gradually breaks apart into a formless display of references to the director's past work, half-themes about to emerge but left unresolved, embryonic situations and a final disintegration of any kind of cinematic illusionism.
