Synopsis:
Starring Lea Seydoux, Gillian Anderson, Martin Compston and with a star turning performance from 12 year old Kacey Mottet Klein this is a film that shows us the real scenes behind a luxury ski resort and the people that inhabit it. Simon (Mottet Klein) lives with his older sister (Seydoux) in a housing complex below a luxury Swiss ski resort. With his sister drifting in and out of jobs and relationships, twelve-year-old Simon takes on the responsibility of providing for the two of them. Every day, he takes the lift up to the opulent ski world above, stealing equipment from rich tourists to resell to the local kids down in the valley. He is able to keep their little family afloat with his small-time hustles and his sister is thankful for the money he brings in. But, when Simon partners with a crooked British seasonal worker, he begins to lose his boundaries, affecting his relationship with his sister and plummeting him into dangerous territory.

The mountains loom so very large and the child looks so very small in 'Sister,' a cool yet compassionate look at two people bound by love and shared struggles in a world of haves and have-nots. Directed by Ursula Meier, it turns on a 12-year-old, Simon (Kacey Mottet Klein, a heartbreaker), a cunning survivalist hustling to fill his belly and that of his lovely, troubled, perennially underemployed older sister, Louise (Léa Seydoux). These are the world's invisible, forgotten ones, slipping through the shadows and moving along the margins.

A drama set at a Swiss ski resort and centered on a boy who supports his sister by stealing from wealthy guests.
