Synopsis:
A collection of British feature films and documentaries. 'Patience (After Sebald)' (2012) traces the life and work of the late author W.G. Sebald. Though born and raised in Germany, Sebald relocated to Britain in the 1970s to work at the University of East Anglia and a number of his books display the influence British life and the English countryside had upon him. The documentary draws on one of Sebald's most celebrated works, 'The Rings of Saturn', in which he describes at length a journey along the East Anglian coast, the people he meets and the memories it provokes. 'The Gospel of Us' (2012) is a feature-length film version of the Easter Passion play written by Owen Sheers and starring Michael Sheen. Also included is a documentary giving a behind-the scenes look at the Welsh National Theatre's production of the play, performed in the streets of Port Talbot over Easter 2011.The coming-of-age drama 'Strawberry Fields' (2012), traces the changing relationship between two sisters over the course of a long English summer. Anna Madeley stars as Gillian, a Kentish girl who gets a casual summer job as a strawberry picker. 'The Joy of Six' (2012) is a collection of six award-winning British short films, comprising: 'Long Distance Information' (2011); 'Man in Fear' (2011); 'A Gun for George' (2011); 'The Ellington Kid' (2012); 'Scrubber' (2012); and 'Friend Request Pending' (2011).

STRAWBERRY FIELDS
Directed by Frances Lea & starring Christine Bottomley (The Arbor), Strawberry Field tells the story of Gillian, who is running away from home. The girl find a job picking strawberries and soon she fell for her co-worker Kev. The idyllic love story is interrupted by the arrival of Emily, Gillian's sister. The two have a destructively suffocating relationship and Emily wants her sister to go back home with her. A story of love, rivalry, and family set over a hot English summer in a strawberry fields in Kent.
JOY OF SIX
Joy of Six showcase the best of British directing talents and starring personalities as Judy Dench, Peter Mullen and Luke Treadaway. Long Distance Information (Douglas Hart); Man in Fear (Will Jewell); A Gun for George (Matthew Holness); Scrubber (Romola Garai); The Ellington Kid (Dan Sully) and Friend Request Pending (Chris Foggin) are part of a perfect package of six original, inventive and provoking short films.
PATIENCE (AFTER SEBALD)
A richly textured essay film on landscape, art, history, life and loss, Patience (After Sebald) offers a unique exploration of the work of internationally acclaimed writer W.G. Max Sebald (1944 - 2001) via a walk through East Anglia tracking his most influential book, The Rings of Saturn. The much anticipated new feature by the Grierson Award-winning Director of Joy Division, Patience is the first film about Sebald internationally, marking ten years since the writer's untimely death, and with contributions from major writers, artists and film-makers.
THE GOSPEL OF US
Dave McKean presents THE GOSPEL OF US, the film adaptation of the ground-breaking theatre event starring Michael Sheen. Taking inspiration from one of the defining narratives of our times, this contemporary re-telling of the Passion story took place across the town, with the people of Port Talbot as its cast, crew and heroes. Easter. Port Talbot is in a battle for its life. Authoritarian forces have taken over and the town is in thrall to ICU, a sinister and merciless corporation depleting the town of its resources with scant regard for the residents. The atmosphere is explosive. Resistance is inevitable. When a company man and suicide bomber clash on the beach, catastrophe is only averted by the intervention of a softly spoken man who had disappeared 40 days earlier. Revealed later as the Teacher (Michael Sheen), he attracts followers and becomes a focus for the Resistance. His influence quickly draws the attention of ICU, who perceive him as a danger who must be removed at all costs.

Patience (After Sebald) (2012)
The work of cult writer W. G. Sebald has been brought to the big screen for the first time by Grammy-nominated filmmaker, Grant Gee. Gee 's previous work includes the Radiohead documentary Meeting People is Easy which followed the band on tour for their third album, OK Computer, as well as music videos for Gorillaz, Nick Cave, Suede and The Kills. In 1993 he made Joy Division. Patience is a haunting, hypnotic richly textured essay film on landscape, art, history, life and loss. Taking a walk through East Anglia, Patience tracks Sebald's most influential book THE RINGS OF SATURN and has contributions from major writers, artists and film-makers including Sir Andrew Motion and Tacita Dean.

The Gospel of Us (2012)
This project is the film version of the Passion play that was performed throughout Port Talbot in Easter 2011.

Strawberry Fields (2012)
Strawberry Fields is the story of two sisters who both like the same man but in different ways and is a bold and inventive melodrama that offers a distinctively refreshing spin on a complex story of lust, rivalry and liberation. A seemingly carefree woman is seen cycling through narrow lanes before reaching a strawberry farm where she takes on a job, living in a shabby caravan, starting to develop friendships with her co-workers and in particular one rugged farmhand, Kev. Although aloof and mysterious its not until a dazzling woman appears in the strawberry fields that we discover who she was running away from - her sister, Emily. Emily is eccentric to the point of dangerous and its not long before the two sisters form a battle of wills with Kev caught in the crossfire.

Long Distance Information (2011)
Dad always said not to talk to strangers. But you've got to phone home sometimes.

The Ellington Kid (2012)
Two friends sit in a kebab shop in London. One tells the other a story he'd heard about a boy who'd recently been stabbed by a gang in the street. He'd staggered into the very kebab shop they are sitting in, desperately looking for somewhere to hide, pursued by the gang, looking to finish him off. But the gang hadn't thought about the shop's owners...

Scrubber (2012)
Jenny is looking for escape. After being let down by a babysitter she decided to leave her daughter with a neighbour and walks into the surrounding countryside. Whilst waiting by the side of the road, she is picked up by a stranger and together they drive into woodland where she must choose between fantasy, escape and home.

Friend Request Pending (2012)
FRIEND REQUEST PENDING is a short comedy drama about the mature generation dating in our modern social networking world. It's a tale of love but more importantly life long friendship. The twelve-minute tale tells the story of Mary (Judi Dench) and Linda (Penny Ryder) who spend an afternoon discussing the pleasures, pitfalls and problems with using social networking to try and woo the local choirmaster Trevor (Philip Jackson).

Man in Fear (2011)
Anthony Fox is a very paranoid man. Fleeing a coach crash, he wanders the streets; he's bloodied and desperate, trusting no-one, switching food orders and behaving erratically. Anthony finally walks into a suburban Police Station and approaches the world weary Desk Sergeant. In a cracked voice he tells him that people are trying to kill him... by accident. When the disbelieving Policeman sighs and asks him their motive, he cryptically replies 'Art'...

A Gun for George (2011)
Matthew Holness's violent crime thriller about a pulp fiction writer who decides to avenge his brother's death at the hands of gangsters.
