Synopsis:
A 1940s Auckland teenager dreams of becoming a Hollywood star. Her glamorous dreams seem to be getting closer, but then reality gets in the way. Constance is a teacher. She dreams of being a movie star. She walks away from her secure job, in pursuit of glamour and excitement. She has suitors. They're rich and handsome. But she's still not satisfied. Then she meets a famous photographer. He asks her to pose, but then she discovers - too late - that life isn't always like the movies.

Constance is a bored, movie-loving schoolteacher in post-WW2 New Zealand who begins to fantasise that she's a Hollywood star - with tragic consequences.
