Synopsis:
New Zealands own erotic fantasy. Angel Mine explores the role of marriage, its realities, its fantasies, its humour and its tragedies. The plot surrounds a couple who are desperately trying to emulate the type of people they see in media advertisements. They have a nice home, good jobs and own all the material possessions they need. They resort to fantasies, but find their fantasies leading them back to the same type of world they're trying so hard to escape from. In the same material lifestyle they imagine each other as they ideally like the other partner to be. Their fantasies entrench them even further in society through TV commericals, Playboy magazines and movies. They discover they cannot escape the real world.

A young and affluent couple become fatally entangled in their own wish-fulfillment world. The topic of the movie itself is interesting. It is set in an Auckland, New Zealand suburb, namely Pakuranga, in your average Lockwood home. In fact it depicts suburbia, and marriage as a lot of people see it, but fail to acknowledge that this is how it really is.

A young Auckland suburban couple attempting to model their lives on media advertising, become enmeshed in a surrealistic world when their inner fantasies break through.
