Synopsis:
It's the late Fifties in the provincial capital of Logroño. Aspiring teenage poet Fabianitio watches with awe the arrangements for the funeral of his grandfather, an ex-civil servant and bullfighting enthusiast who, just before he died, spent his life savings on a television. But the funeral will bring to a head a number of tensions boiling just below the surface, as Fabianito discovers the secret world of adulthood. A delicious new comedy that bears witness to the lasting influence of Luis Berlanga on contemporary Spanish film.

In Logroño in 1959, Fabianito, an adolescent and apprentice poet, watches in bewilderment the grotesque organization of the wake for his great-grandfather, Don Fabián, ex-civil servant and bullfighting enthusiast, who has spent a lifetime's savings on buying a television. Fabianito will discover love in these circumstances, while the family waits impatiently for the arrival of the mayor so he can name Don Fabían 'Distinguished Citizen'. The incidents and visits overwhelm the family of the deceased, already complicated enough, leading to comic and macabre situations.
