Synopsis:
Claude Nori is the photographer of happiness. This documentary captures moments of his life, interviews, meetings shots, extracts from his Super 8 films, image selection, installation exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie ... A photographic flirt is interesting in the entire prism covered by the work of Claude Nori .

Claude Nori, born in 1949 in Toulouse, discovered photography in 1968, thanks to his classmate, Patrick Chapuis. He quickly understood the expressive potential of photography and especially the freedom and lightness that it offers allowing you to go in search of discovering others, the world and oneself. In 1974, along with a group of inspirational people, photographers and critics, he founded 'Contrejour', which was a newspaper, publishing company and a gallery at Montparnasse all at once, which quickly became the meeting place for the spreading of new photography. 'Contrejour' published the majority of a lot of photographer author's first books, such as Guy le Querrec, Bernard Plossu, Pierre et Gilles, Sebastao Salgado, Robert Doisneau, etc. His works were exhibited in numerous festivals (Arles, Malmo, Houston, Tokyo, Valencia, Rome, Corigliano, Rio de Janeiro, Coïmbra, Mexico…) and in galleries. In 1999, he settled in Biarritz with his wife Isabelle Nori, where they founded the festival 'Terre d'Images' and the magazine 'Photo Nouvelles' then 'Revista', and another 'Sud-Ouest' in 2003. 'Photographing happiness is really very difficult, perhaps more complicated than taking photographs of poverty or tragedy. It is something intangible, like a soap bubble that slips away, it's hard to catch because we find ourselves on the inside and everything is fragile. When you are happy, you do not feel the urge to take a photo but rather to indulge yourself in the intoxication of the moment, drinking, eating, kissing, rising up (…) With a picture, you have to take a moment to think about the lighting, framing, composition, objects that hinder and interfere, there must be a minimum amount of composition in order to communicate the happiness" Claude Nori.
