Synopsis:

The Italian Consul in South Africa, Giovanna (Giuliana De Sio), is a fascinating, single and self-assured woman. Although her term is almost up, her passion for her work compels her to take on a delicate case: to help locate an African woman's Italian companion. The investigation proves to be the hardest professional undertaking of Giovanna's career, as well as acomplicated emotional intrigue. Marco, the man who has mysteriously disappeared, is her former lover, whom perhaps shehas never forgotten and with whom she broke up years earlier, before moving to Cape Town. Director Antonio Falduto's storyis profoundly sympathetic to the plight of women and simultaneously reveals an immense country teeming with secrets. The investigation serves to reveal the battle against an enormous evil of contemporary life: the trafficking of women sold into prostitution or illegal labor in Europe.

The Italian consul in Cape Town, Giovanna Bruno, right at the end of her mandate must face the most difficult case of her diplomatic career. A beautiful young black woman, Palesa Kubeka, bursts into his office in a desperate search for his partner, journalist Marco Borghi, mysteriously disappeared.
