Synopsis:
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1936)
London's dockside is teeming with ships and sailors who have made their fortune in foreign lands. Sweeney Todd, a Fleet Street barber, awaits the arrival of men whose first port of call is for a good, close shave. For most it will be the last time they are seen alive as Sweeney Todd robs them of their new found fortunes and chops their remains into small pieces. Meanwhile, Mrs Lovett from next door is enjoying a roaring trade for her popular penny meat pies...
Crimes at the Dark House (1940)
In the gold fields of Australia, Sir Percival Glyde is murdered by the hammering of a tent peg through his ear. Tod Slaughter assumes the identity of Sir Percival's estate in London. He schemes a marriage to Laurie Fairlie, (Sylvia Marriott), the daughter of wealthy man and plans to murder his new wife and substitute her with the deranged and dying daughter of the real Sir Glyde. But will his double deception be uncovered?
Maria Marten, or The Murder in the Red Barn (1935)
In Maria Marten, Squire William Corder, (Tod Slaughter) wins the affection of Maria Marten, (Sophie Stewart), but their happiness is cut short when she falls pregnant and demands that Corder marry her. At first he agrees, but his wicked mind is planning her murder in the Red Barn...

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1936)
In the Nineteenth Century, in London, the barber Sweeney Todd invites lonely and wealthy costumers in the port to his barbershop on the nearby Fleet Street and murders them to take their money, while his associate Mrs. Lovatt and owner of a bakery below is barbershop gets rid off the bodies. Sweeney uses his fortune to help the fleet owner Stephen Oakley with the intention to force his daughter Joanna to marry him. However, the beloved Joanna's boyfriend Mark Ingerstreet returns rich from his last voyage and Sweeney decides to kill him and steal his fortune in pearl, making Mrs. Lovatt jealous with the situation.
Crimes at the Dark House (1940)
A madman murders Sir Percival Glyde. Taking on his victim's identity, the man returns to the Glyde ancestral home, Blackwater Park, in hopes of claiming a large inheritance. However, the estate is heavily in debt. Still hungry for wealth, the false "Glyde" takes advantage of a long-standing betrothal promise to marry young and beautiful heiress Laurie Fairlie. Having his true identity revealed could ruin everything, but this lascivious and diabolical "Glyde" is more than willing to kill anyone who stands in his way... This story is loosely based on Wilkie Collins's The Woman in White.
Maria Marten, or The Murder in the Red Barn (1935)
In his film debut, Tod Slaughter, plays William Corderes, the lover who seduces then murders innocent country maiden Maria Marten (Sophie Stewart) in the red barn before burying her body beneath the barn floor.
