Synopsis:
A troubled Catholic priest, Father James, finds his faith crushed when a young girl he promises to protect commits suicide. Months after her death, he is forced to return to his old parish and to the scene of her suicide, a derelict mansion house. Trapped in the house overnight James becomes convinced that he is being haunted by the ghosts of the girl and her dead Stepfather, who have risen from the grave to seek retribution for the awful tragedy that he allowed to take place.

Heretic tells the story of Father James Pallister (Andrew Squires), a Catholic priest who is popular with his flock but, deep down, a troubled man. One of his parishioners, a teenage girl named Clare, committed suicide; her stepfather Tom subsequently hanged himself. As both of them came to James for confessions shortly before their deaths, could he have intervened and saved them? At three AM one morning, the remorseful, liquor-swilling priest visits Tom and Clare's abandoned house and loses himself in his memories. When he tries to leave, however, he finds that he has been mysteriously locked in. One by one, people in his life enter the house to find him, only to become similarly trapped. With them in the house is the blood-soaked ghost of Clare, apparently out to punish James for his negligence and willing to manipulate anyone else in the house to achieve this end.
