Synopsis:

Thirteen-year old Clara lives with her mother and her stepfather on a remote farm in the Swiss Alps. Clara's sensitivity and her strong connection with nature enable her to see and feel things others cannot perceive. Only in Thomas (12), a youth centre inmate temporarily placed with foster parents in the nearby village, Clara finds a confidant and an ally. The discovery of an ancient girl's shoe gets Clara in touch with Susanna, a girl who lived on the farm two centuries ago. Susanna is deeply troubled: her father has captured a bear cub and - according to an age-old legend - a curse falls upon those who do wrong against bears. To the dismay of Clara's parents, Clara decides to help Susanna. But before the two girls succeed to free the bear cub and to restore balance between man and nature in the past, Clara and Thomas have to pass an equally dangerous adventure in the present day.

Thirteen-year-old Clara lives with her mother and stepfather on a remote farm in the Swiss Alps. She lives in close touch with nature and can see and sense things that others are incapable of perceiving. Clara's discovery of an ancient girl's shoe leads to contact with Susanna, a girl who had lived on the same farm 200 years ago. Susanna is very worried: when her father captured a bear cub, the mother bear placed a curse on the house. Together the two girls attempt to break the curse and redress the balance of nature.

The balance of nature is in danger and only Clara and her friend have the heart to solve the secret of the bears and to break a centuries-old spell.
