Synopsis:
Patric Jean is an insurgent, which is much less common than one may think in the very mild contemporary landscape of social documentary. Rather than being guided by any such pre-established 'script,' he seems to have applied another rule to his work. This rule is to chase relentlessly - over the course of cleverly focused wanderings -, the misery and hunger that lurk below, the blindness of the world in the face of unhappiness, the social deafness of the elected representatives and of the elite, and all of the ordinary alienations that the very people who endure them often only confusingly sense, and which only an external eye - and an external conscience - are in a position to unveil. With Patric Jean, the distress of the world bursts out towards our faces.
Kids from the Coal Land: A Letter to Henri Storck (2000)
Might Is Right (2003)
Wall to Wall - Berlin - Ceuta (2008)

Patric Jean is an insurgent, which is much rarer than one might imagine in the very smooth landscape of social documentary today. He seems to have set a rule: Track down, at the option of wandering skilfully targeted, poverty and hunger hiding, blindness in the world before the disaster, deafness elected officials and social elites and ordinary forms of alienation often the very ones who suffer most are only dimly foresee. Patric with jeans, the plight of the world will explode in your face.
