BEFORE WOMEN HAD WINGS (1997): Alcoholic Billy reflects on his country music career that never happened and beats his wife Gloria Marie, also a drunk. Grown up son Hank has moved away, but teenaged Phoebe and sensitive 9 year old Bird have to live in the bleak alcoholic atmosphere. Problems escalate after a tragic event. The three females move into a trailer where the girls are subjected to a torrent of abuse from their mum. Fortunately, benign Miss Zora appears like a guardian angel to lift their spirits.

THE WEDDING (1998): On Marthas Vineyard in 1953, debutante Shelby Coles (Halle Berry) stirs discord in her social climbing family when she chooses to marry impoverished white musician Meade Howell (Eric Thal). At the Shelby family estate, weeks prior to the wedding. Meade informs her parents, Corinne and Clark Coles (Lynn Whitfield, Michael Warren), that his family will not be attending the wedding and the irony of upper crust blacks being rejected by poor whites hangs heavy.

STARTING OVER (2007): An aristocratic Scottish family is torn apart after the death of its wayward male heir in a horse riding accident. Mourning the loss of her younger brother, Lady Elizabeth Dewhursts marriage collapses and she is left to run the financially precarious estate alone. Can the arrival of a charming classics professor to research his book in the familys historical library remind Liz how to love again?

A RISK WORTH TAKING (2008): Dan Porter had it all: the nice house in suburban London, three children, a beautiful wife and a great job in finance until the dot com crash and 9/11 changed his outlook about life and making money. Dan lost a good friend in the tragedy and is now content being a house husband focusing on his family, while his wife, Jackie, pursues her high level job with a fashion designer, but changes in income have caused strife. His wife and daughters want their old life back and Jackie perceives Dan and their son, Josh, as loafers because they seem content with less.

JAKES WOMEN (1996): Mired in an unhappy marriage with current spouse Maggie (Ann Archer), Jake (Alan Alda) tries to cope with his wifes insistence on a trial separation by conjuring up images of the other women in his life: his late wife Julie (Mira Sorvino), his confused daughter Molly (Kimberly Williams), his neurotic sister Karen (Julie Kavner) and his analyst Edith (Joyce Van Patten). Putting his literary skills to good use, Jake carries on imaginary conversations with these ladies, hoping that they will help him sort out his problems. The trouble begins when the spectres of Jakes Women begin showing up without his bidding, insisting upon debating and arguing with the poor fellow even as he tries to pursue a new romance with his current flame Sheila (Lolita Davidovich).

DAVID AND LISA (1998): Lukas Haas portrays David, a withdrawn but apparent near genius, who fears being touched. Brittney Murphy plays Lisa, a young woman seemingly suffering from split personalities who speaks only in rhymes and withdraws from anyone who does not speak to her likewise. Meeting in the psychiatric ward, the twos eyes lock and an obvious attraction is indicated. First each must learn to approach each other in their own sphere. Enter Sidney Poitier as a caring psychologist who helps David to come to terms with his emotional failure to deal with his fathers death at an early age. Debi Mazar also appears as Lisas case worker.

LONDON SUITE (1996): On one day at an English Hotel, four different stories are shown. Diana is in London to promote her Television Series and her ex husband Sidney shows up to ask her for money for his gay lover. Mark and Annie come to London for the Wimbledon Tennis matches, but they lose their tickets and Marks back goes out. Debra is on her honeymoon with Paul, but Paul is missing and Debra lies to everyone she meets as to where Paul is. Sharon and Lauren are on a shop till you drop trip and Sharon meets Dennis, an older man who seems to be interested in her.

TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE (1999): Mitch (Hank Azaria) became caught up with his career as a sports commentator and journalist. He ignored his girlfriend and did not make time to do things in life that are of the most value to a human being. Morrie (Jack Lemmon) was one of Mitchs professors in college and a famous scholar. One day Mitch was watching television and saw Morrie giving an interview stating that he is dying of Lou Gehrig disease or ALS. Jack Lemmon is quoted as saying he believes his role as Morrie is by far his greatest work and is the last film he ever made.

Romantic drama. A young wife cares for her terminally ill husband in the wilds of Scotland. The couple ask an old friend to join them from London and help manage their business affairs. But the woman soon realises that she harbours feelings for the friend, even as her husband struggles to fight his disease.

Jake's Women (1996)
Jake is a writer. He is married to Maggie, but his marriage is in trouble. He cannot stop thinking about other women in his life, characters he invents conversations with. He is constantly talking to: his deceased wife Julie, his daughter Molly, his sister Karen, and his psychiatrist Edith. All he does is have imaginary conversations with real people that are at the moment out of his life. Maggie cannot stand his mind wandering off all the time and decides to separate for six months and at the end of six months they will decide whether or not to remain together. Jake has a few girl friends, but spends the six months, while waiting for Maggie, only talking to these imaginary people, and a few times to real people.
