Synopsis:

Marc, who shares a remote mountain chalet with his sister, teaches literature at the polytechnic beside the lake in Lausanne and cannot resist his female students. One of them, Barbara, in the morning is dead in his bed. When she is reported missing, the police open an enquiry and her glamorous young stepmother Anna starts her own investigation. Anna easily seduces the ever-amorous Marc, while he at the same time is unsuccessfully fending off both a sexy young student Annie and his frustrated spinster sister Marianne, who is being wooed by Richard, his head of department. But the police are closing in and Anna may not be what she appears.

The plot centres around Marc (Mathieu Amalric), a libidinous lecturer in creative writing at Lausanne University who thinks nothing of sleeping with as many of his attractive young female students as possible. After one such night of passion, a student, Barbara (Marion Duval), fails to return home and the police are called into investigate her disappearance. Suspicion falls on Marc who admits to having an affair with the student but claims ignorance as to her whereabouts. The intrigue deepens when Barbara's stepmother Anna (Maiwenn) appears on campus looking for her stepdaughter and she and Marc begin a torrid love affair.

A literature professor at the University of Lausanne, Marc has a reputation for having love affairs with his female students. A few days after the disappearance of one of the most brillant of these, who was his latest conquest, he encounters Anna who is trying to find out more about this beautiful young woman who has disappeared.
