Synopsis:
When Donna dumps her boring fiance and moves in with her best friends Karen, a shag-anything, binge-drinking primary school teacher, and sex-starved dreamer Louise, she gears herself up for a full-on single life. But is she ready for this brave new world of serious alcohol consumption, outlandish sexual entanglements and blind confusion? A painfully funny snapshot of those of us not quite ready to grow up yet. Contains Series 1 & 2 and the Pulling Special.

Season 1
Episode #1.1 S1, Ep1 23 Nov. 2006
After dating boring but dependable, devoted but despairing, bumbling boy-friend Karl for five years, Donna says yes to tying the knot. Her friends organize a hen night, where she changes her mind, realizing it's hardly true love and simply not the way to happiness. Karl doesn't just take it badly, he's shattered, and convinces Donna at least to wait and go trough with a lunch his mother organized for the wedding guests, without telling anyone yet, but gets drunk there till he tells himself...
Episode #1.2 S1, Ep2 23 Nov. 2006
Louise is struck by the guy Karen pulled at the party and is annoyed to find she failed to get his number. Donna asks Karl to get her a job through an employment agency but Karen loses her teaching post after unravelling in front of her class.
Episode #1.3 S1, Ep3 30 Nov. 2006
Donna saves Karl after he has tried to hang himself and asks her friend Tanya to act as his minder whilst she and Karen go to a party where Karen gets pestered by an obnoxious married man called Mark. On returning home Donna finds that Tanya's efforts at therapy with Karl have not been particularly successful.
Episode #1.4 S1, Ep4 7 Dec. 2006
It's Donna's thirtieth birthday and she wakes up in bed with a barman and a poor recall of the previous night. Louise decides to get her a birthday present via the Internet but ends up getting into porn exchanges. Karen finds out that Mark has died, so she goes to his funeral, but only to get back the money he owes her.
Episode #1.5 S1, Ep5 14 Dec. 2006
Richard, Louise's boss at the cafe where she works, takes her, Donna and Karen out for a drink, where Donna meets the gorgeous Sam. She succeeds in getting his number but ends up in bed with Richard. And he's meant to be gay. Karen gives up the drink and becomes rather a mess as a result. Louise meets Oleg, a customer at the cafe. She has not had sex for two years and finds that Oleg is more than happy to help her make up for lost time!
Episode #1.6 S1, Ep6 21 Dec. 2006
Louise's mother, Eileen, arrives at the flat and announces that she is moving in. She has left her (younger) boyfriend and is gagging for it. She goes to a club with Karen and Louise where she embarrasses them by simulating Lesbian moves with her daughter, in order to attract male attention. Donna's efforts to impress Sam's friends are equally disastrous and he eventually tells her to choose between him or Karl.
Season 2
Episode #2.1 S2, Ep1 23 Mar. 2008
Tanya re-encounters Karl and they end up having sex on the kitchen floor. Louise has sex with Oleg but is not happy when he falls asleep halfway through. Donna can't find anyone to go out with, let alone have sex, so she stays in for the evening, learning about global warming. Karen meets unstable ex-, Billy. OK so he did once try to kill her but, hey, they go back a long way.
Episode #2.2 S2, Ep2 30 Mar. 2008
To get one over on Oleg, Louise dates reformed flasher Mike. He gets into a fight but she stands by him, declaring,"O.K. so he might be a flasher but he's my flasher!" Donna's efforts to impress her old friend Catherine go predictably awry whilst Karen is appalled to find that Billy has married an Argentinian cleaning lady to give her a British passport.
Episode #2.3 S2, Ep3 6 Apr. 2008
Karen finds a dead mouse in her flat, and a cat, which she adopts. Donna consoles Ian, her boss, whose mother has died, leading her to believe she has potential as a counsellor. Louise is left in charge of the café and gets a local artist to brighten it up with unusual results. Tanya invites Karl back for a dinner party. It looks like it's all on again.
Episode #2.4 S2, Ep4 13 Apr. 2008
Louise has a big row with Karen following a girls' night out to celebrate Louise's birthday. It was meant to be for the girls only but Karen pulled, and got off with a man, leaving the bash and leading Louise to accuse her of disloyalty and to move out.
Episode #2.5 S2, Ep5 20 Apr. 2008
Donna is unhappy to learn that Karl is moving to Italy, selling his house at a vast profit in so doing. Karen gets involved with a guy called Justin, who is emotionally heavy going and she finds it very difficult to dump him simply because he won't stop crying. Louise discovers a new and very addictive pastime - shoplifting.
Episode #2.6 S2, Ep6 27 Apr. 2008
Karen believes she is pregnant by Billy. She is not keen for him to find out but Louise tells him and he promises to mend his ways and stand by her but she has her doubts. Louise finds a new man in her life with pumpkin risotto as their aphrodisiac. Donna sleeps around to erase the memory of Karl, her one true love, though he re-appears. Has he changed his mind or is he just saying goodbye?
