Synopsis:
THE 400 BLOWS (1959)
13-year-old Antoine can't seem to do anything right. His parents yell at him, his spiteful schoolteacher picks on him and luck just never goes his way. One day it all becomes too much and Antoine chooses to take his chances on the streets of Paris.
Antoine & Colette (1962)
Antoine has his life in some sort of order and he gets to indulge his love of music in his job at a record shop. The problem now is Colette, someone who he has fallen desperately in love with but who sees him as just a friend. Will she ever view him as anything else?
STOLEN KISSES (1968)
Antoine at age 20 has received a dishonourable discharge from the army and returns to the place he knows best, the Parisian streets and alleyways where he stumbles through a series of unsatisfying jobs and romantic encounters.
BED & BOARD (1970)
Married and with a child on the way, Antoine should have a stable life established as a fully formed adult. However, steady employment remains at arm's length and an affair with a beautiful Japanese woman threatens to destroy all security.
LOVE ON THE RUN (1979)
Antoine falls in love with Sabine, who works at the local record shop, and their relationship begins to blossom. But his former partners Christine and Colette reenter his life and will play a crucial role in it once again. Because love is never simple.

The 400 Blows (1959)
A young Parisian boy, Antoine Doinel, neglected by his derelict parents, skips school, sneaks into movies, runs away from home, steals things, and tries (disastrously) to return them. Like most kids, he gets into more trouble for things he thinks are right than for his actual trespasses. Unlike most kids, he gets whacked with the big stick. He inhabits a Paris of dingy flats, seedy arcades, abandoned factories, and workaday streets, a city that seems big and full of possibilities only to a child's eye.
Antoine and Colette (1962)
This short film is the first segment of five in the multinational feature Love at Twenty (1962), all five segments on the theme of first adult love. After indulging in much delinquency in his youth, seventeen year old Antoine Doinel, having been provided opportunity to get out of that delinquent life, is now an upstanding member of society working for Philips Records, which allows him to indulge in his love of music. At the Youth Concerts, he has noticed the same young woman at several performances, she who he would like to get to know. She is Colette, the two who do begin to date. Colette treats Antoine like a buddy, while Antoine has fallen in love with her. His pursuit of getting Colette to be his exclusive girlfriend is helped on the surface in the fact that Colette's parents like him and encourage their dating. He uses grand romantic gestures to try and prove his love. Will Colette ultimately fall under Antoine's romanticism?
Stolen Kisses (1968)
After being discharged from the army for insubordination, Antoine Doinel visits his former girlfriend Christine Darbon, and her father finds a temporary job of night watchman for Antoine in a hotel. The naive Antoine is deceived by a private eye in his first night shift, and fired on the next morning. The investigator invites the clumsy Antoine to work in his company, where he is assigned for some minor jobs, until he has to investigate why the owner of a shoes store, Mr. Georges Tabard, is detested by his employees. Meanwhile Antoine falls in love for the gorgeous Mrs. Fabienne Tabard.
Bed & Board (1970)
Some time after "Baisers Volés", Antoine Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud) and Christine Darbon (Claude Jade) are married and Antoine works dying flowers, and Christine is pregnant and gives private classes of violin. When Christine is near to have a baby, Antoine decides to find a new job, and he succeeds due to a misunderstanding of his employer. In a business meeting, he meets the Japanese Kyoko (Mademoiselle Hiroko) and they have an affair. When Christine accidentally discovers that Antoine has a lover, they separate. But later they miss each other and realize that they do love each other.
Love on the Run (1979)
Antoine Doinel is having a love affair with the vinyl seller Colette Tazzi. After five years of troubled marriage (with several separations), Antoine and Christine Doinel have a private audience with the judge and conclude an amicable divorce process. His former sweetheart and presently lawyer, Colette Tazzi, sees Antoine leaving the court. She goes to a bookstore to buy his autobiographical novel that was published a couple of years ago. When Antoine goes with Alphonse to the train station he sees Colette on another train, and he jumps from the platform to the train and travels with her. They recall their adolescent love and disclose their sentimental relationships; but when Colette tells how she raises money for her self-support, Antoine is disappointed and seeks out Sabine.

Starting with 'one of the greatest films about childhood, from anywhere, ever' (Anthony Quinn, The Independent), which kicked off the French New Wave, Franc?ois Truffaut delivers an indisputable landmark of cinema history - five films, four features and one short, which follow the life of one charming, compelling and unforgettable character. Before anyone else, Truffaut allowed audiences to dip into one character's life progressively over twenty years, witnessing him growing up from a child struggling with school and the law to an adult, struggling with love and divorce. A very special and unique collection, The Adventures of Antoine Doinel will invoke joy, humour, nostalgia and happiness time and time again as your investment in Antoine and his story progressively proliferates with each gloriously captured scene.
The 400 Blows (1959)
Intensely touching story of a misunderstood young adolescent who, left without attention, delves into a life of petty crime.
Antoine and Colette (1962)
Antoine and Colette (French: Antoine et Colette) is the second film - a short - in François Truffaut's series about Antoine Doinel, the character he follows from boyhood to adulthood through five films.
Stolen Kisses (1968)
Antoine Doinel joined the army but has just been discharged. The film tells his reunion with Christine Darbon, the girl he was in love with before the beginning of the film, and his adventures in his jobs : first as a night watchman, then as a private investigator, especially during one investigation within Mr Tabard's shoes-shop... Mme Tabard is so fascinating...
