Synopsis:
***ATTENTION***Audio in English & Swedish with subtitles in English where Swedish audio***A collection of Swedish 1970s arthouse skin films starring Christina Lindberg, made when Sweden championed liberalism and pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable, blurring the lines between sex and art. Features The Language of Love, a classic sex education film 'based on clinical research by famous American and Swedish doctors', Anita - Swedish Nymphet (Torgny Wickman, 1973), in which Christina Lindberg plays a young well-developed and psychologically ruthless nymphomaniac who is torn between her innocent boyfriend and the older, more experienced, but sadistic sociopath Helge, and Exposed (Gustav Wiklund, 1971) - banned in 36 countries, and now available without a single cut. Also includes More About the Language of Love (Torgny Wickman, 1970) Wide Open (Gustav Wiklund, 1975) and Love Play: That's How We Do It (Torgny Wickman, 1972).

The Language Of Love (1969)
The sexual revolution of the 1960s culminated in Dr David Reuben's Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex (But Were Afraid To Ask), published in 1969. That same year, Kärlekens Språk (The Language of Love) was released in Sweden, a sexually explicit sex education film based on clinical research made by American and Swedish doctors. Controversy surrounded the release - to many it was little more than sexploitation masquerading as scientific study. It was denied entrance into the US, and here in the UK 30,000 protestors marched in London demanding the film be banned. Eventually granted a certificate four years later. 40 years on, The Language Of Love remains an important historical insight into the sexual behaviour of an equally important period of social change, and is rightly described as "the mother of all sex education films".
Anita: Swedish Nymphet (1973)
Christina Lindberg stars as Anita, a 17 year-old nymphomaniac. Rejected by her oppressive parents, Anita turns to men for sex. This develops into a damaging obsession, sleeping with strangers, junkies and even hanging around the local railway station to snare men from out of town. Polarised by the local community, Anita meets a psychology student named Erik, who befriends her. Fascinated by Anita, he uses her as a case study and sets out to discover the root of her behaviour. Diagnosing the causes of her nymphomania is easy. Resisting Anita and finding a cure proves more challenging.
Exposed (1971)
Christina Lindberg stars as Lena Svensson, a 17 year-old living a double life of fantasy and reality. Her young boyfriend, Jan, is weak and unable to meet her salacious appetite for sex, whilst displaying an unhealthy oedipal relationship with his mother. In order to satisfy her wild side, Lena becomes involved with an older man named Helge, a brutal figure who hosts drug and sex-fuelled parties and who forces the young Lena to be photographed in uncompromising positions. When Lena tries to run away, Helge uses the photographs to blackmail her into remaining under his sadistic control. Directed by Gustav Wiklund, Exposed is a complex and twisted Lindberg classic. Banned in 36 countries, the film explores themes of sadomasochism and sexual oppression, showing the dark side of sex and human nature.
More About The Language of Love (1970)
While LANGUAGE OF LOVE illustrated general sex behaviour, MORE ABOUT THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE shows minority group attitudes towards sex. As in the first film, there is an expert panel of scientist, discussing and explaining the different parts of the film. The famous Danish sexologist couple Inge and Sten Hegeler are throughout the leading characters, while the others experts change in every sector. The headings are as follows: male and female homosexuality, aesthetics and sex, handicapped and sex, drugs and sex, pornography and sex, children and sex, and sex with old people. In the new film affliction and warmth are emphasised, particularly in the chapter showing coition between persons of the same sex. Besides when a blind girl and boy examine with their hands how a naked man and woman respectively are made, a new educational method initiated by the internationally known, Swedish sex pedagogue Maj-Brith Bergstroem-Walan. The child's natural need of masturbation in an unsafe world is commented on, and old people's right to a happy sex life is demonstrated. The pornography part comprises an exposing report from a sex club in Copenhagen, where fascinating 'live-Show' is emphasised, and a description of how pornographic films dealing with group sex is being produced. The drugs and sex sequence is a shocking report about all human variations and the importance of tenderness, is concluded in the final chapter, presenting a blond and very attractive young girl and her dark, curly haired fiancée during passionate and richly varied intercourse.
Wide Open (1974)
A philandering cab driver decides to help his girlfriend's attractive sister, who is in trouble with drug dealers.
Love-Play: That's How We Do It... (1972)
The final film in a trilogy of sex documentaries. Psychologists Sten and Inge Hegler delve into their most difficult and intriguing cases, revealing their patient's fantasies and addressing issues such as how we can learn to be more comfortable with our bodies and sexuality.

Celebrating Swedens finest and most infamous films of the late 60s and 70 s, a time when Sweden championed liberalism and pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable. A mixture or eroticism, arthouse and education, Revelation presents six films that were controversial yet groundbreaking, blurring the lines between sex and art. This complete collection contains Language Of Love, More About The Language of Love; and Christina Lindbergs Exposed, Anita Swedish Nymphet, Wide Open and Love Play Thats How We Do It.
