Synopsis:
Divorced and living with her teenage daughter, Lu (Valeria Bertuccelli) asks her close friend Ana (Elena Anaya) to house-sit while she goes away with her new fiancée. Ana spends her days lazing by the pool, afflicted by a deep loneliness. During this time, Ana gets to know Lu's ex-husband and begins an affair that will have profound implications on her friendship with Lu. Victoria Galardi's second solo feature is an honest and poignant commentary on loneliness and friendship between women. Subtle, tender, and complemented by a magnificent cast, Galardi explores the many conditions and challenges that friendships are forced to face.

I Thought It Was a Party is an incredibly engaging character study between the personalities of two best fiends, Lucia and Ana. Lucia (Valeria Bertuccelli) decides to go on vacation to Uruguay with her new boyfriend and Ana (Elena Anaya) agrees to look after her house and 12-year-old daughter in Buenos Aires. But when Lucia''s ex, Ricky, stops by, the sparks fly between him and Ana and the two plunge into a passionate affair. Ana suddenly finds herself caught among her best friend, her new lover, and her fear of commitment.

Lucía asks Ana to watch her house while she spends a few days away, but a casual and unexpected encounter with Lucía's ex-husband will jeopardize their friendship.
