Synopsis:
Restless fisherman Hans (Andreas Lust) and his younger wife Jana (Andrea Wenzl) live by the Austria-Slovak border. The Austrian army suspects the couple is smuggling illegal immigrants across the border, but has no prove. So they send a good-looking soldier, Robbie, to befriend the couple, particularly Jana. But Hans is not easily fooled; he is aware of Robbie's intention and lets Robbie get close to his wife. Despite her reluctance to participate in this dangerous game, Jana agrees to play along, to deceive the soldier. Soon they find themselves crossing other forbidden boundaries.

Two men and one woman are involved in a dramatic triangle between love and passion, transgression and betrayal. Florian Flicker has set Karl Schönherr's 'Der Weibsteufel' in Austria's borderland shortly after the turn of the last century. In the remote swamps next to the March River, Hans and Jana are living in a criminal idyll that comes tumbling down when a young soldier enters the picture.
