Synopsis:
When Hitler decided to invade the Soviet Union, he also decided to build headquarters in the east. From here, Hitler will send its aggressive march. This is the Wolfschanze (Wolf's Lair). The entire area is invisible from the air and very heavily secured. The complex which has an area of 6.5 square km was operated by as many as 2,000 people. Hitler will end up staying there for more than 800 days, in order to keep its troops on track. Thanks to the brilliant animation and original images of war, you can learn all about the history of the bunker and the famous attack which was perpetrated by Hitler.

In the autumn of 1940, the decision was made by Hitler to construct a base of operations from which Operation Barbarossa could be planned and instigated. This almost impenetrable series of structures, located in the Masurian woods near the town of Rastenburg, welcomed the Fuehrer for the first time on the 23rd June, 1941. Although Hitler had a number of similar bases built throughout Europe, the Wolfsschanze was by far his preferred location, spending a total of over 800 days there during a three and a half year period. In that time, a number of key decisions were made there that drove the Eastern campaign against Russia, as well as a failed assassination attempt on the Fuehrer himself. The entire area, invisible from the air was secured very heavily. The complex which had an area of 6.5 square km did have as many as 2,000 people operating there. This film helps to reconstruct the story of this extremely secretive and fascinating centre of Nazi operations, from its original design and construction in the early 40s to its continued use by Hitler and eventual demise as the war came to a close. Also featured is an in-depth analysis of the attempted assassination on Hitler by German Army Officer Claus von Stauffenberg, whose exploits were recently portrayed on the big screen in the film Valkyrie. Thanks to brilliant animation and original images of war, you can learn more about the history of the bunker and the famous Eastern campaign committed by Hitler. This is the Wolfsschanze! Kapelusznik Production for PlayFilm S.C.
