Synopsis:

From Paris to Berlin, giving lessons or visiting museums, Edgar Morin speaks about the essential part cinema had in his intellectual fulfilment, from his childhood and the discovering of social and political French, German ou Sovietic movies, to the writing of his worldfamous essays "The Cinema or The Imaginary man" and "The Stars" in the 50's, and the directing of Chronicle of a summer in 1960 with Jean Rouch. The first time using of direct sound in this documentary was a revolution in the history of cinema, as well for documentary as for fiction.
