Synopsis:
Early 1960s Cockney comedy directed by Joan Littlewood. Returning home from sea after two years, Charlie Gooding (James Booth) finds his home demolished and his wife Maggie (Barbara Windsor) missing. When he finally tracks her down, she's moved in with bus driver Bert (George Sewell) and has a new baby, the parentage of whom is in doubt. As Charlie attempts to win his wife back, his explosive temper soon threatens to undo all his good work.

Charlie returns to the East End after two years at sea to find his house demolished and wife Maggie gone. Everyone else knows she is now shacked up with married bus driver Bert and a toddler, and they all watch with more than a little interest at the trail of mayhem Charlie leaves as he goes about sorting things out.

Returning home after two years at sea, an East End sailor searches for his wife and learns she has moved in with another man. Panic sweeps Stepney when he swears vengeance on her lover in a bawdy and boisterous picture of Cockney life.
