Synopsis:
Starring luminous stars of the future Julia Garner (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Rory Culkin (Mean Creek) the film follows young Mormon virgin Rachel (Garner) who awakens one day to find herself inexplicably pregnant after secretly listening to a forbidden tape of The Nerves' classic hit 'Hanging on the Telephone'. Facing shame in her community and a forced marriage, Rachel flees the strict compound where she lives and, accompanied by her stern brother Mr Will (a scene-stealing Aiken) hits the road in search of the singer on the tape - the man she is convinced has made her pregnant through music. Lost in Las Vegas, the oddball pair fall in with a bunch of slacker skater punk-rockers led by dreamy lost boy Clyde (Culkin) and together are thrown into a very different new world full of music, romance and possibility.

Pregnant by music? On her 15th birthday, Rachel, a young Mormon girl from a fundamentalist Utah community, discovers a forbidden cassette tape with rock music on it. Having never heard anything like it, she has a miraculous experience and three months later, claims to have had an immaculate conception from listening to the music. Her parents arrange a marriage, but Rachel runs away to the closest city, Las Vegas, to search for the man who sings on the tape, thinking he has something to do with her mysterious pregnancy...

Pregnant by music? Rachel, a young teenager from a fundamentalist Mormon community, believes in immaculate conception, while her fundamentally religious family regards her condition as an intolerable transgression. The search for the child's origins is a revelation for the 15-year-old.
