Stormforce (2006)
After an over-cocky inter-forces 'anti-terrorism' game in which he damaged the minister's car, Belgian Army special ops diver Rick Symons is transferred to the Navy. Alas, in Koksijde base's rescue unit, rivalry among both Seaking helicopter crews is as dangerously blind. Rick has a stormy hate-love-relationship with female medic Alex Breynaert. And his past, an incident which left veteran Koen crippled for life, sort of catches up. Koen's crazy scheme has dire consequences, breaking Rick's will to go on. But he changes his mind during a ship fire emergency and takes extreme risks.
Whitey (1980)
The smart but naughty farmhands son's eternal mischief, pranks and disobedience drive his elders (especially teachers, family and father's grumpy employer, a rich farmer, but also neighbors and even the kind curate whose liturgical server he is) and classmates to despair in a time when a boy's punishment was still inevitable, swift and often severe; thus when his mother catches him skinny dipping she takes all his clothes home, forcing him to a long walk of shame, dreading dad's wrath all the way. This version also stresses the story's social and Flamingant aspects.
Wait Until Spring, Bandini (1989)
Rocklin Colorado, 1925. A hard cold winter. Young Arturo Bandini loves his father Svevo, his mother Maria and his brothers. Even though his bricklayer father wastes the little money he has in the Imperial Poolhall and his time with the rich American widow, Hildegarde. Even though his beautiful and pious mother lets his father get away with that, even if his little brother wets the bed. Arturo loves them all. He also loves to play baseball, even though he has to wait until spring. And he also loves the movies ... and Rosa. But she doesn't love him ...
Jumping (1986)
The scene is set in an home for well off old people. But "Semper Vivax" is not just another retirement home. What its guests get there, which they would not in an ordinary establishment, is actually amazing : their best real-life memories are played out for them. Such is the bet of Axel, the cynical manager, and of Pipo, his assistant of genius, who are prepared to do anything to keep the customer satisfied. The only trouble is that there is nobody out there to turn into dreams the frustrations of the two men.
Koko Flanel (1990)
Due to a mistake Placide Smellekens appears, hanging in a lamp post, on an advertising poster for fur coats. After a while everyone wants to wear Placide's clothes in stead of the fur. Therefore, Germaine wants him to become a mannequin and work for her. As mannequin he meets Sarah. He wants to chat her up, because Placide's father said him at his deathbed that he would come and haunt if Placide wouldn't find a girl soon. Sarah gives Placide his nickname: Koko Flanel.
The Enclosure (1978)
A deaf-mute forester is completely withdrawn from the world. He lives in the tower of a medieval castle which is in ruins. He uses his telescope to spy on an artist, who has decided to live in isolation with a girl who poses for him. But his solitude remains, he never comes in real contact with his neighbours, but their TV set shows him the world they come from. From the top of his tower, he falls in love with the young girl…
Crazy Love (1987)
Three 'Bukowskian' torrid nights in the life of a man in search of love. Harry Voss, 12, is young and naive. Love, for him, is romantic love between princes and princesses demurely kissing each other on the mouth. His father is a hero who kidnapped his mother and married her on a lonely mountain peak... Later on, he'll do the same. But Harry has a lot to learn. He also learns that there are handsome men and ugly ones, that love can be unfair. That one can find comfort in drinking... but above all he learns that man is capable of anything - absolutely anything! - to get his fair share of love.
