Synopsis:
In 1890, Alfred Beaugerard is delighted to become a father, to identical twins. Unfortunately, his wealthy American uncle has stipulated that he will only bequeath him his fortune if he has just one son. The only solution is for Alfred to separate his two baby sons - one will be reared in America, the other will stay in France. Both will be named Achille. Forty-six years later, the son who was brought up in America returns to France as the director of a multi-national company. He must attend a trial in Paris at which an heiress will present a legal claim to a share of his company. It so happens the heiress's lawyer is the other Achille, the one who stayed in France...

Alfred Beaugerard has just had twins. But there's a slight problem as a wealthy uncle has decided to leave his fortune to his nephew provided that he's the only son of the family. Hence the infants are quickly separated.
