Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water is a Japanese TV Series which is loosely based upon Jules Verne's 20000 Leagues Under the Sea. It is about a young girl Nadia and a boy she meets, Jean, while performing with a circus. After being confronted by jewel thieves who are after her mysterious Blue Water pendant, Nadia and Jean set off on a journey across the world, under the seas, and eventually other planets, while traveling on the Super Sea Cruiser Nautilus.

Nadia is a teenaged circus acrobat, an orphan searching for her father at the turn of the 20th century. While in France, she meets up with Jean-Coq Raltique, a brilliant inventor her own age. After being rescued at sea by a mysterious submarine, they discover high adventure, and an ancient conspiracy that threatens the very existence of the human race.
