Synopsis:

Diana Damrau has triumphed as Violetta Valéry in La traviata a role she first dreamed of singing when she was just 12 years old at a number of the world s leading opera houses. Among them is Paris Opéra Bastille, where in June 2014 she starred in this sumptuous production by film director Benoît Jacquot, which takes inspiration from the paintings of Manet. Sung in Italian, with subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts this live performance of Verdi's opera based on the play 'La Dame Aux Camelias' by Alexandre Dumas. The performance features Diana Damrau as Violetta Valery, Anna Pennisi as Flora Bervoix and Cornelia Oncioiu as Annina.
