Synopsis:

The last time Mark (Robert Bathurst - Cold Feet, My Dad's the Prime Minister) saw his estranged spouse Becky (Fiona Gillies - Peak Practice, Holby City), he blew a great chance of reconciliation when he delivered an impassioned speech, imploring his rival, Trevor, to take her back...Sadly, entirely by accident! His inspired words had been intended for someone else. In the two months since that fateful night, there has been no contact - only their lawyers talk. But just as life alone is finally becoming a little easier to bear, a chance and typically embarrassing meeting with Becky fuels Mark's obsession with her once more.

Joking Apart is a BBC television sitcom written by Steven Moffat about the rise and fall of a relationship. It juxtaposes a couple, Mark and Becky, who fall in love and marry, before getting separated and finally divorced.
