Synopsis:
Master gator hunters Troy Landry and Junior Edwards survive Cajun-style deep in the bayous of the Louisiana wilderness, where the hidden world of the swamp is their Eden. Danger and excitement abound, along with a rich tradition of language, food, music and generations of shared family experience. Who can catch the biggest gator in the swamp? There's a $10,000 bounty that should help answer that question in Season 6 of SWAMP PEOPLE.

Swamp People: Season 1: Deep in the heart of Louisiana lies America's largest swamp - a million miles of inhospitable bayous marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it. Many of its inhabitants are the hardened descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada in the 18th century and settled in this harsh yet majestic environment. SEASON ONE of SWAMP PEOPLE takes you on a journey to a hidden world the bayous and swamplands of America's southern heartland where the folks who dwell here live on the fringes of society and are known as Cajuns. Resilient self-reliant and fiercely independent the Cajuns of the Atchafalaya Swamp still carry on many of their ancestors' trades and traditions. HISTORY's SWAMP PEOPLE follows these swampers through a time of year that is crucial to their survival: the 30-day alligator hunting season. At its core this is a uniquely American story of a proud and skillful people fighting to maintain an ancient way of life in a rapidly modernizing world despite the many perils and trials that stand in their way.
Swamp People: Season 2: The hidden world of the Atchafalaya Swamp is their Eden. It's a terrain where nature rules - and history lives. Master gator hunters Troy Landry and Junior Edwards return for a second season of survival Cajun-style deep in the bayous of the Louisiana wilderness. Danger and excitement abound, along with a rich tradition of language, food, music and generations of shared family experience. A colourful cast of characters use techniques dating back to frontier days to live off the land, catching everything from frogs to squirrels and raccoons. Men who make gumbo and snag gators with their bare hands make history every day on Swamp People.
Swamp People: Season 3: Deep in the heart of Louisiana lies Americas largest swamp, a million miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it. Many of its inhabitants are the hardened descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada in the 18th century and settled in this harsh yet majestic environment. Follow these swampers through a time of year that is crucial to their survival - The 30-day alligator hunting season. In Season 3 of Swamp People, the Cajun hunters of the Louisiana swamp are in for a big surprise. After a few years of low gator prices, the price of alligator leather rebounds, bringing new tensions as outsiders from Texas cross into Louisiana and try to obtain hunting tags. The Cajuns respond as they always do - by relying on their traditional skills and the strong family bonds that stretch back to Americas pioneer days.
Swamp People: Season 4: Deep in the heart of Louisiana lies America's largest swamp, a million miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands where nature rules and humans struggle to tame it. Many of its inhabitants are the hardened descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada in the 18th century and settled in this harsh yet majestic environment. Follow these swampers through a time of year that is crucial to their survival - The 30-day alligator hunting season. In Season 4, with the start of the hunting season delayed in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac, the Swamp People face a new foe - an invasion of new blood from Texas vying for their share of alligators. The Cajun hunters of Louisiana respond as they always do in their most difficult season yet - by relying on their traditional skills and the strong family bonds that stretch back to America's pioneer days.
Swamp People: Season 5: HIstory's(R) 'Swamp People(R)' returns in Season 5 to wade past the Cypress trees into the bayous of Louisiana in hot pursuit of the biggest and baddest bounty of alligators they can claim. The courageous teams come face to face with cannibal gators, potential poachers, and 'cursed' zones while pushing their limits and keeping their eyes on the prize - their families and livelihood depend on it. The quest heats up when hunters stretch to the 'Outer Limits' of their charted territory to catch rogue gators and attract the competitors' potential game. Electrical storms, clogged canals, and cattle country can't stop 'em in 'Beasts or Bust.' In 'Swamp Ambush,' one team takes on a menacing reptile at a state park, while another tackles a marsh monster threatening kids at camp in 'Devil at the Door.' Tension, testosterone, and terrorizing gators add to the edge-of-your-seat action. Time is ticking in this life-threatening race to tag the prime target, bag the kill, and bring home the bacon.
Swamp People: Season 6: Swamp hunters fight massive alligators and Mother Nature, and journey into previously unknown, hostile areas of the swamp. Shrewd gators try to outwit the hunters' new methods of capturing their prey. Whether using new indigenous bait, old decoys, or employing a primitive alternative to the modern hook, these hunters constantly adjust their tactics to catch and fill their tags.

Welcome to one of America's last frontiers: the wild swamplands of Southern Louisiana, a place whose history stretches back to the 17th century. It's the start of the most exciting-and dangerous-time of year for the swampers, the month-long alligator season. During this 30 day window, swampers make most of their annual income culling gators. Follow these swampers through a time of year that is crucial to their survival: the 30-day alligator hunting season. At its core, this is a uniquely American story of a proud and skillful people fighting to maintain an ancient way of life in a rapidly modernizing world, despite the many perils and trials that stand in their way.
