Synopsis:
Victor Borge, the master musical wit, is captured at the pinnacle of his celebrated career in this London concert performance recorded in 1979. A child prodigy who gave his first piano recital at age eight, the Copenhagen born Borge moved to the U.S. and combined his piano prowess and a penchant for comic one-liners, a unique cross between stand-up and high art that saw Borges reinvent popular entertainment. Performing with the complete Wren Orchestra in the Grand Hall of the Wembley Conference Centre, along with American soprano, Marylin Mulvey, Borges takes the musical mickey out of Chopin in a laugh out loud spoof that combines the usual double takes and double entendres.
