Synopsis:
The Common Law (1931)
Young Valerie models for an American painter who tries to make a future in Paris and they fall in love.
Lonely Wives (1931)
A lonely husband, whose wife has been away, hires a look-a-like impersonator to fill his place and fool his mother-in-law while he plays around with a pretty coquette. His wife returns that night and confusion prevails.
Kept Husbands (1931)
Daughter of a wealthy family decides to marry a poor working man.
State's Attorney (1932)
Attorney Tom Cardigan is the discontented "mouthpiece" for Vanny Powers' mob. When Tom takes sweet June Perry as his mistress, she tries in vain to redeem him. But Powers decides Tom would be even more useful to him as District Attorney, which he arranges with surprising ease...despite Tom's warning that "if I go on the other side, I'll stay there." Soon, Tom's ambition leads him to ditch June for the daughter of political boss Ulric. The crisis arrives when Powers goes on trial for a killing...witnessed by June.

A small-town woman (Ann Harding) refuses to let her politician lover (John Boles) divorce his wife (Helen Vinson)..

A chic kept woman (Constance Bennett) walks out on her benefactor (Lew Cody) and becomes an artist's (Joel McCrea) model in Paris.
Lonely Wives (1931)
Richard Smith (Edward Everett Horton) is a married lawyer, but he has a penchant for seducing women. When Richard meets Felix (also Horton), a comedian who looks exactly like him, the two hatch a plan. Richard will allow Felix to impersonate him on stage if Felix is able to convince Richard's mother-in-law that he is actually Richard. Meanwhile, Richard tries to seduce Felix's wife (Laura La Plante), and Felix fools Richard's wife, Madeline (Esther Ralston), into sleeping with him.
Kept Husbands (1931)
Blue collar steelworker Richard Brunton (McCrea) saves two of his fellow workers after an accident at a factory. In gratitude, his boss, millionaire Arthur Parker invites Richard for dinner with his family. Arthur's daughter Dot (Mackaill) is instantly impressed and infatuated with Richard She vows to marry him within a month.She does but Richard's seeming good luck is short-lived when he discovers how spoiled and selfish Dot really is, draining his finances dry in her greed, and he becomes Dot's "kept husband." Richard eventually convinces her to settle down and be happy on his humble salary.
State's Attorney (1932)
Corrupt alcoholic attorney Tom Cardigan (John Barrymore) is one of the best lawyers around, commanding the courtroom like a stage and often winning his cases. Mobster Valentine Powers (William "Stage" Boyd), who employs Cardigan and put him through school, asks him to represent a woman, June Perry (Helen Twelvetrees), accused of prostitution. Cardigan agrees. But he never expected to fall for her, which is problematic since he's angling to become governor and will need the right kind of wife.
The Life of Vergie Winters (1934)
John Shadwell, a promising politician, is married to Laura but is in love with Vergie Winters, a milliner from his home town. As Shadwell's political career blooms, gossip and rumors begin to cause Vergie to be shunned by the women of the town. Soon the two are constantly faced with the threat of exposure and scandal.
