Synopsis:
Grete Öller (Maria Hofstätter), a detective at the Linz State Office for Criminal Investigation, together with her young colleague Lisa Nemeth (Miriam Fussenegger), is called to a corpse with a bullet wound found in the Steyr breach reservoir. Everything seems to be clear quickly: The dead person - Erich Dirnbacher (Fritz Karl) - has not only suffered from depression after his wife left him with the children, but also from advanced cancer. Obviously, he committed suicide. In Dirnbacher's house, however, Grete and Lisa make a discovery that Grete meets in person: Dirnbacher was the driver's driver who killed the family of Sepp Ahorner (Josef Hader) in a car accident years ago. Sepp had been looking for the guilty party until he was sent to early retirement for incapacity to work. Ironically, now that she has finally processed the failure of her relationship, Grete oilman Sepp must personally deliver the message. Together with Lisa she sets off for the Mühlviertel. But Sepp has disappeared and nobody knows where he is. Even his mother Maria (Erni Mangold), who can not rejoice over Grete's appearance. Grete's amazement at Sepp's disappearance and Maria's dismissive demeanor quickly subverts her concern for Sepp. Why did he go underground? And why did he take an old hunting rifle with him?
