Movie filmed in 1900-1930 and produced in:
Austria ( Germany, Central Europe )

Directed By:
Johann Schwarzer

Synopsis:
Unique documents from the early days of Austrian film: In the 19th century, the trade in erotic images was widespread. After the Lumière brothers popularized cinematography from 1895 onwards worldwide, the film makers also used the potential of the new medium to portray erotic subjects. Johann Schwarzer, a resourceful photographer from Javornik in Silesia, recognized the commercial possibilities of erotic filming. In his Viennese Dachatelier he produced soon also for the international market. Between 1906 and 1910, Saturn shot exclusively erotic films, which are also considered the first feature films made in Austria. The charmingly made erotic miniatures understood how to entertain and kept winking at the sacrosanct institutions of the k. u. k. Monarchy, such as the military or marriage. Until a few years ago, most of the SATURN FILMS were considered lost. Intensive international research has enabled Filmarchiv Austria to rediscover more than 30 titles.
