Synopsis:
When a deal in Kiev goes bad for American mobsters Gino (Danny Nucci) and Settimo (Dan Hedaya), they make their way to Glasgow to seek shelter from the fallout in the home of cousin Bobby (Gerald Lepkowski). A kindly stamp collector who runs a small café, Bobby believes Gino and Settimo to be a pair of PR consultants, although when his grateful guests attempt to repay his hospitality by strong-arming a persistent bill collector, he begins to have his doubts regarding their profession. When the Russian mafia contracts a pair of Liverpool heavies to find the fleeing mobsters, Bobby finds his quiet life falling apart at the seams.

Culture-clash British comedy in which two American mafiosi, Gino (Danny Nucci) and Settimo (Dan Hedaya) take refuge in the Glasgow cafe belonging to their Scottish/Italian cousin Roberto. To repay Roberto's hospitality, they employ their mafia tactics to see off a debt collector who has his eye on Roberto's property, causing Roberto to realise that they are not the PR consultants he thought they were. Meanwhile, the America cousins are also having to adjust their opinions of Roberto, who they thought was a tough guy: it turns out he likes nothing better than a bit of stamp collecting, and has set his heart on a young waitress in his cafe, Alice (Shirley Henderson).

Two American mafiosi, Gino and Settimo, take refuge in the Glasgow cafe owned by their Scottish/Italian cousin. But cousin Roberto isn't the tough guy they'd expected. His strengths are fish frying and stamp collecting, and he thinks Magnum 45s are a type of ice cream. Gino and Settimo try to repay Roberto's hospitality by chasing off a debt collector who wants his property, but their strong arm tactics alarm him and he realises they aren't the PR consultants they claimed to be.
