Synopsis:

Serrano is the person behind the syndicated corruption and blackmail. His death suits quite a lot of fellow villains But Philippe confesses to Xavier his quilt, when Xavier provides him with an alibi to cover his act on the night of the crime. Soon a host of underworld figures surface around Xavier for the diary left behind by Serrano. Followed by Philippe himself anyone involved in his life and/or affairs liquidated. A bizarre merry-go-round of deaths encircle Xavier who doggedly goes on seeking the killer who is found to be most unexpected, incredible and unlikely¡K Some victories leave a nasty taste in the mouth.

When his friend, Philippe Dubaye, murders a business partner, Xavier Maréchal attempts to provide him with an alibi. Dubaye reveals that that he also stole a notebook containing the names of numerous corrupt politicians whom the murdered man had been blackmailing. As he attempts to recover the notebook, Maréchal finds that he has become the target of an unknown enemy. When Dubaye is killed, Maréchal realises that his own life is in peril. Unable to trust anyone - not even the police - it is left to him alone to expose the killer, before he himself is killed...
