Synopsis:
In 2002, the policy aimed at combating juvenile delinquency, the spearhead of the presidential campaign, announced the opening of the first Closed Educational Centers. The CEF of the plain of Forez (Loire) was created in 2004. Ten delinquent minors from 13 to 16 years old with heavy criminal background are placed there by decision of a youth magistrate, for a renewable period of 6 months. "Educational", "Closed". The whole ambiguity of the CEF rests on this duality. How can these teens reconnect with society when they are temporarily removed from it? Is the reinforced supervision the appropriate response for these minors who have defeated all traditional devices? The result of three consecutive weeks of shooting during which the team lived day and night at the CEF, this documentary takes the time to delve into the daily life of the center and its educational project, to tell the story of those who live it. Point de chute approaches the problem of juvenile delinquency from a different angle, that of dialogue, reconstruction, and looking to the future.
