Synopsis:

Richard Roundtree (Shaft) and Roy Thinnes (The Fugitive, The Invaders) star in this savage, hard-hitting 1973 spaghetti Western. On the run in the desert near the Mexican border after killing an officer, a black soldier (Richard Roundtree) stumbles upon a lame Indian wanderer (Roy Thinnes). Struggling to survive, they reach a deserted church mission and set up camp. But the area is home to ruthless Mexican bandits - and a bounty hunter (Nigel Davenport) is on the trail of the deserter. In the heat-blasted frontier wilderness life is hard and killing is easy - but as the fugitives discover, the taking of just one life can change everything... A Union Army soldier on the lam in Mexico during the Civil War encounters a crippled, homeless Indian in the desert. They team up and face down a bounty hunter who threatens to return the soldier to the North for a $500 reward.
