Synopsis:

Hungarian folk tales were majestically brought to life by animation master Marcell Jankovics, Oscar nominee in 1974 for Sisyphus and Palme d'Or winner at Cannes in 1977 for Struggle. These tales reflect the richness of Hungarian legends and their imagination. In this splendid world of childhood, filled with magic and mystery, Pinco, the little pixie with extraordinary strength and intelligence helps an old man do his job (Pinco, the awesome pixie). A little boy found at the edge of a river tries to save his sister held captive by a witch (Jean, with the fishing net), and Pierre, born of a piece of carved wood, defies all alone an entire army (Pierre, small piece of wood). A young prince with his magic horse and sword goes to the rescue of the Red King besieged by witches (The Golden Field) and the son of a king helped by a fox goes in search of a miraculous bird to save her father (The Fox-Eyed Princess).
