Synopsis:
In 1934, the Hays code came into force in Hollywood and all subjects that could offend the sensibilities of viewers were banned from films. Nudity, blood, alcohol, etc. disappear from the screens. It was then that a parallel, so-called exploitation cinema developed, which ignored these prohibitions and left room for excess ... Welcome to Hollyweed! The smoky world of Drugsploitation opens its doors to you. Through 8 films discover this underground genre of cinema. Do not take yourself seriously because, under the guise of educating the population against the harmful effects of drugs, these films tend to satisfy rogue minds ... Assassin of Youth: A high-school girl gets involved with a ring of teenage marijuana smokers and starts down the road to ruin. A reporter poses as a soda jerk to infiltrate the gang of teen dope fiends. Blonde in Bondage: American reporter doing a story on Swedish nightlife gets involved with a drug-addicted nightclub singer. Maniac: Don Maxwell is an ex-vaudeville ham, wanted by police, who has now found himself as the unlikely assistant to Dr. Meirschultz, a mad scientist in the business of reanimating corpses. Maxwell's gift of impersonation gets him and Meirschultz past the guards and into a morgue where they use a special serum to revive the corpse of a pretty young woman... Marihuana: A young girl named Burma attends a beach party with her boyfriend and after she smokes marijuana with a bunch of other girls, she gets pregnant and another girl drowns while skinny dipping in the ocean. Burma and her boyfriend go to work for the pusher in order to make money so they can get married. However, during a drug deal her boyfriend is killed leaving Burma to fend for herself. Burma then becomes a major narcotics pusher in her own right after giving up her baby for adoption. Narcotic: As the opening scroll tells us, Narcotic was 'presented in the hope that the public may become aware of the terrific struggle to rid the world of drug addiction.' The movie itself is a salacious plunge into a world of sordid pleasures. It tells us the story of Dr. William G. Davies, an infamous snake-oil salesman who started his career as a promising medical student... Reefer Madness: Film that relates the story, as told by high school principal Dr. Carroll to parents at a PTA meeting, of the scourge of marijuana. The tale revolves around Mae and Jack, accomplices in the distribution of marijuana, who manage to entice the local high school kids to stop by Mae's apartment to smoke reefer. The lives of all who are involved with this menace are inevitably shattered... Wild Weed: A chorus girl's career is ruined and her brother is driven to suicide when she starts smoking marijuana. The Road to Ruin: A young girl gets involved with a crowd that smokes marijuana, drinks and has sex. She winds up an alcoholic, pregnant drug addict and is forced to get an abortion.
